Florida State College @ Jacksonville's North Campus
On over a 150 acre wooded area, FSCJ's North Campus has outstanding facilities including the main campus, a sports complex, and the Criminal Justice Center. It is located about 7 miles from
Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)
curbside and between six to seven miles from JAX's 22 hotel/motel row, including a major shopping mall. FSCJ-North is about 8 to 10 miles north of downtown Jacksonville
North Campus is unique in its program offerings which include a wide array of assorted programs including the new Biomedical Sciences program featuring a new state of the art chemistry lab. Unique to the North Campus is the Culinary Institute of the South, with its incomparable student-managed fine-dining restaurant, the Mallard Room, where early arrivals to Jacksonville may experience a fine dinner experience on Thursday evening October 9th. Friday's lunch will be experienced in the Mallard Room for the first 54 requesting participants, while the reminder of lunch participants will have a catered lunch by the Culinary Program nearby. The Hospitality Program will also cater the lunch on Saturday.
Shaded walking paths through and around the college are available as well as a regulation track in the sports complex for joggers.
Built in 1970, North Campus is Florida State College at Jacksonville's primary center for health-related programs such as nursing, dental hygiene, and emergency medical services. North Campus is unique in its program offerings which include a wide array of assorted programs. With over 7000 student per major term, the Arts and science Division offer's the traditional first two years of college towards an A.A. degree. This includes eight lower-level chemistry courses: CHM 1020; CHM 1025C; CHM 1032C; CHM 2045C; CHM 2046C; CHM 2205C; CHM 2210C; and CHM 2211C. Current Catalog Descriptions
North Campus is home to a state-of-the-art cosmetology program and houses the Northeast Florida Criminal Justice Center, which has a Police Academy facility.
A major sports center for the College at North Campus includes the Women's Softball Complex, Howard Roey Field, home of the Florida State College at Jacksonville's "BlueWave" baseball team, a multi-purpose field and an all-weather track.
