You may do it the long way showing all blocks of orbitals, or you may use the shorter method applying the square brackets around the Nobel Gas which indicates the complete inner filled electrons in the core (or Kernal).
i.e: [Ar] represents 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 or the 18 electrons in the Argon core.
