Vector and Raster Graphics:

Each student should collect at least 15 electronic graphic files during the course, which may be submitted to the instructor on disk when requested or as email attachments. Graphics collected from the Web and used in home pages should be in the 2-15 k memory size. Hugh graphic files should not be utilized in a student's home page. Each student will explore at least 10 sites to obtain free graphics. The student will make a list of the 5 best URL sites for free graphics.

Each student will scan at least three photos during the course and convert them to an electronic images for the Photos Page. The student will use Paint Shop Pro or other graphics package to resize the photo into a thumbnails under a different file name.

T

he instructor usually add a "t" to the file name of the photo to indicate a thumbnail. The Thumbnails will be placed on the photo page. Each photo will be clickable to bring up another web page which contains the larger image with some text to complete the photo album. During the first week of the course, each student will take an electronic photo. The student will have an electronic photo taken of her/himself to post in the About Me Web Site. The inclusion of one scanned image and one e-photo is worth 50 points toward the student’s final grade (see above). The collection of 15 images from the web is worth 50 points.

If you do not own a scanner or know someone who does, then the technicians in BTECH 203 will help you scan a photo for your web page.
